I was carrying a small bag to hold pens and stuff. This brings functionality–space for a couple of pens, charging cables, and what not. It’s functionality built into most backpacks, but the Kanken being bare bones…. It’s not quite as handy as having up-front small pockets. If your Kanken is fully packed you’ll have to move stuff out to access these pockets. And it’s way to expensive, almost half the cost of the bag. Oh well, if you want a Kanken for style, and want to make it more functional, this is a good addition.
